Absinthe (provisoire) is a French band from Montpellier, with a 9 years existence now, recorded his first album at Engine Music Studios in Chicago (Illinois) which released in October 2003 on Hydrophonics (Montpellier), with national distribution by Chronowax (paris).

After a lot of concerts in France, including openings for Godspeed you black emperor ! Cheval de Frise, Party of One or Experience, the band had made his second album, recorded by Neil Conti (famous drummer of David Bowie, Prefab Sprout...), in his Magic Circle Studio , in December 2004 in Montpellier (france). It has been mastered by Daniel Lazerus in the Chace Studios in Los Angeles.

and Absinthe (provisoire) is always looking for gigs.

the third album is ready. it was a long and hard work. it consist in a trilogy around 50 mn each.
to promote all this new music, we will try to make the most gigs than we can. but, we haven't a lot of time 'cos we work on 2 projects of teatre right now.
the first one call " the living and the dead" from the gerard mordillat's book and adapted by julien bouffier. it's during 8-9 hours and we are on stage with the actors and playing almost everytime.

the second one is "baal" from b. brecht and adapted by mathias beyler.

Musically, the sound of Absinthe (provisoire) can be described as an encounter between some introspective parts, noise assaults, free-deviant gestures, frightening ambiant landscapes, and rock n’roll soul power.
The band is trying to push away the so called « post rock » in all unexpected directions possible, hoping to live extreme emotions, extreme trance and extreme energies.

All of the members of the band are involved in many projects around music : collaborations with dancers and theatre ; electro-acoustic compsositions  ; writings on music ; improvisation concerts ; radiophonic shows ; etc…

Thanks to tell us what you think about our music and we hope to do great things with you very soon …
